Love and determination in the Welsh Hills!
Love and determination at Quaint Country Weddings…
Sometimes LOVE just wins!
Martin and I had an absolute first in all our years of photographing weddings last Thursday. It was our first Wedding since 14 March and …. a truly amazing thing happened. A surprise Church Wedding Ceremony… for the Groom. Yes the Groom did not know until about an hour before the 3 p.m. Ceremony that he was getting married that day.
There is a wonderful and poignant back story to this intimate Wedding. Katrina and Mark had started to plan their Wedding a long time ago. Fate had intervened a few times – and eventually they were able to plan for 6 June this year – but of course covid-19 then happened and they postponed to August next year…
A secret plan comes together…
If ever there was a couple who had had obstacles put in front of them in their Wedding planning it was Kat and Mark. However, Kat’s truly deep resilience just came to the surface and with the help of a very understanding Vicar and very good friends Janet and Keith [who own the Quaint Country Weddings Venue next to the Church www.quaintcountryweddings.co.uk] a plan was hatched only a few weeks ago. Mark celebrates his Birthday on 27 August and his deeply romantic and caring Fiancée Kat thought how amazing it would be for it to be his Wedding Day too… this year! With Kat’s Team behind her she hatched a plan to ask Mark the big question ‘will you marry me today’ as she held up his suit [which had all been arranged for their 6 June date].
Last Thursday 27 August 2020
So last Thursday Martin and I had the total pleasure of photographing this ‘Secret Surprise Wedding’ at a unique and beautiful Wedding Venue near us in the Welsh Hills. At the medieval black & white Trelystan Church Kat and Mark married with 11 guests in attendance. They had a small celebration in the marquee a minute’s walk away and it was so fantastic to see these two lovely people finally get married. Their postponed date in August 2021 will now be a ‘Renewal of Vows’ and a lovely big party. Congratulations Kat and Mark… not only a really incredible Covid-19 Wedding story but also the story of deep love and determination’s power over adversity. We are so delighted we were there.
We have several Weddings booked at Quaint Country Weddings http://quaintcountryweddings.co.uk for 2021.
